West Valley Overview

The West Valley consists of 15 communities located in western Maricopa County, Arizona, including Avondale, Buckeye, El Mirage, Gila Bend, Glendale, Goodyear, Litchfield Park, Peoria, Sun City, Sun City West, Surprise, Tolleson, Wickenburg and Youngtown. It consists of approximately 3,000 square miles and supports a population of 1,272,747.

The West Valley has grown significantly over the past decade. Affordable residential and commercial real estate, new freeways, strong school districts and some of the most innovative master plan communities in United States have made the West Valley a great place to live and do business.

More than 50,000 businesses reside in the West Valley. According to the Greater Phoenix Economic council, 52% of the Phoenix area’s growth is expected to occur in the West Valley. Major employers include:

The West Valley provides residents with above standard K-12 education systems, 10 colleges and universities. It is also home to the Arizona Cardinals, Phoenix Coyotes, and nine of the 15 major league spring training teams.

In addition, the West Valley provides a highly regarded quality of life with the Arizona Broadway Theatre, Arizona Challenger Space Center, World Wildlife Zoo and Aquarium and numerous parks and outdoor recreations facilities.
